Keeping the toilet clean can be one of the most unpleasant household chores, as many people hate handling products that contain bleach or other harsh chemicals. However, it turns out there is a much simpler way to banish grime, limescale and any stains in only 10 minutes

She said: “These all-natural toilet pods are so simple to make! The only DIYs I will ever make and share about are super simple. Very few ingredients needed. Small number of steps to make. Minimal time needed.”
How does it work to clean a toilet?
Toilets often become dirty due to water stains and limescale, the buildup of minerals leftover from water evaporation that forms a hard, crusty substance at the bottom of toilet bowls.
Citric acid breaks down these mineral deposits and also helps disinfect the toilet by killing bacteria. It originally comes from citrus juice, but a more potent and crystallised version can be bought in the cleaning aisle of most supermarkets.
Baking soda is naturally abrasive, so it helps scrub away stains. It is commonly used to unclog toilets and clean pipes.
Castile soap is a gentle natural cleaner that cuts through dirt. It is used in this DIY cleaner to help the other ingredients stick to the surface when used to clean the toilet.
Lemon essential oil gives the solution a fresh scent and has natural antibacterial properties, which will help boost the other ingredients.
Method
You need only add the baking soda and citric acid to a bowl and stir them together.
Add the castile soap and lemon essential oil until you have a damp mixture which is clumping together. It should have a similar consistency to wet sand.
Place the natural toilet pod in a silicone mould and smooth the surface with the back of a spoon.
Wait a few minutes for it to dry so it can pop out the mould easily, and when ready, store it in an airtight container with a lid.
Once ready, drop one toilet pod into the toilet bowl. It will begin to fizz up, and the cleaning solution will begin to work its magic.
When the fizzing has stopped, and the toilet pod is completely dissolved, wipe your toilet with a toilet brush.
The stains should be wiped away easily, leaving you with a sparkling clean toilet. Give your toilet a flush, and it should be completely clean in just 10 minutes.
